Luminous artistic panel from the "Facce posate" collection made with mixed technique by DanCalaMan.

The panel is made by processing colored plastic cutlery on a led illuminated panel, with light in natural shades. Wooden frame. This is the second work of a collection with an ambiguous name, as it is based on posed faces (in Italian "Facce in posa" or "posate") made with disposable cutlery (in Italian "posate").

The work represents a reflection of the main character on a typology of characters that are popular in the current world making it a worse world.

THE OLD MAN AND THE COCK

There are cockerels who, like bigoted priests, sing out of proportion to angels, demons and scapegoats, "tearing apart" the day annoyingly; cockerels as singers of the slimy scum, which usurps and infects. Cockerels who have not learned to make anything but noise.

There are cats who play with the mouse just for fun.

There is an old man, with a stripped-down appearance, of scattered pieces, a derelict memory of a life that once was, who, with an amused look, speaks of thermodynamics through metaphors of what he observes:

ON THE SECOND PRINCIPLE OF THERMODYNAMICS

- I got the retirement pension (neg-entropy)
- There is a world (that of men and women) that deteriorates day by day (entropy)
- But I made my life for good or bad
- I know your cocks! (how to say ... who cares about the "bifurcation point")

Then there is a luxuriant, if not lapidary, nature around it, as if heedless of human misadventures. A universal nature that seems to tell the cockerel:

- But who do you think you are to make all this mess in a world of which you are an infinitesimal part ?!
- You can represent a colored pixel, or simply be a grain of sand on the towel.
- In that case just shake ...

The old man, listening to nature speak, pauses to reflect:

- Perhaps I represent the old thinking also of those who are not old by birth.
- I remember when I was young and I thought that in order to change or make revolutions it was necessary first of all to redesign the boundaries of one's world, including what was "other".
- And now that I remember it I can say, as an old man who lived, that it is really true. But if it is easy to be "against" it is difficult to become "for".
- If I no longer have the strength to do, I would at least like to be the morning rooster that crows at the end of the night, of the pleasure of doing well in the day that begins; I would like to sing about a world that belongs to no one in particular but of which it would be nice to color a piece of the future.
